Hello friends, welcome to my new 2015/16 Pre-Season. We had an unexpected promotion to league 1 due to the poor form of our rivals last season. The fans agreed that we had a miracle too, they are very excited about facing Charlton, Norwich and Sheffield Wednesday this season. Lets take a look at the season expectation and how much transfer target that the board has allocated for us.
Our financial situation is quite comfortable at the moment, i was quite disappointed with the transfer budget that the board had given me only 8k. Luckily we had a higher wage budget and that will allow me to sign some players.
Before the start of the discussion over the takeover talks, my current chairman Mr Tommy South had offered me a 2 year contract extension. I will be staying with Thurrock until 2018. There was not much consideration on my side and i immediately put pen to paper and signed the contract.
As you know the takeover talks will be dragging for a few months, the directors had enforced a transfer embargo on us. I was not allowed to sign any new players until further notice by them. I was extremely frustrated as this was disrupting our preparation for the new season. The quality of football in league 1 is a lot higher and i expected to strengthen all position in my team. First of all let me show you the players that i released.
These are the players that i released this season. All were released when they were not offered a new contract. Izale McLeod had not been training well and his physical attributes was dropping. I intend to keep Kevin McDonald as a reward of his past performances but he did not want to accept a squad role. Nikki Bull and Sam Spender was not performing well between the post and both were released while Matt Paine seldom played last season and he wanted to leave.
I had no players in due to the transfer embargo and i don’t know how long the takeover talks going to drag. With no players in we were a bit short of players and i had to promote a number of players from the under 18s to the first team. We started the friendlies with the original players that i had and here is the results.
We were a bit short in quality and with no new players coming in yet. We had a nice workout but some poor results over there. Seems like the talks is concluding soon and i believe i will be able to get some players in in August. But till then the season has already started and i doubt with the players that i have at the moment, i am not too optimistic.
It will be quite a congested fixture for us as we will be playing 7 games with a league cup match against QPR. Dear friends, thats my pre-season updates, quite a boring one as there is no new signings to show you. I hope to bring you the new signings in August as well as the results.

Hi Lye, unfortunate situation you are in there. I really hope that the transfer embargo is lifted soon, you need some new players or you may struggle this season.
Hi Laxeyman, its a situation that i do not want to be in. Seems like i can only be patient and wait for the news to come. I hope i am not too late in finding some quality players.
Hi Lye
Transfer embargo…boo!!!
I hope it’s lifted for next month so you can build up your team.
Hi Kevin, what a bad timing! I have never encountered talkover talks in pre-season and its quite frustrating to see the players that i wanted to sign being snapped up.
Well, that’s a pretty difficult situation. But it also is a great challenge, I’m sure you’ll do well despite the hardships. Good luck!

Thanks mate, definitely a big challenge for us at the moment. We will try not to let the off field issue affects our performance on the pitch. Anyway we will just take each game as it comes and work hard for the results.
Lye,I really wish the transfer embrago is lifted soon. You need to sign a few very good players. It most be really annoying, hopefully it will be lifted soon.
Thanks Sears, it will be lifted soon and i hope i am still able to sign some good players.
