West Ham 2021/22 Pre-Season Report – Record Spending

Hello friends, welcome to the latest update of my West Ham story. It’s another season of success for us last season and we will continue to win every trophy coming our way for the fans. There’s no stopping us in building our position as the best club in the world. Ever since the injection of 101m few seasons back, we have a healthy financial situation in the club. There’s plenty of money for us to spend. Lets take a look at the expectation from the board this season.

Winning the last four Premiership make us the favorites to win it for the fifth time but i still chose the minimum target of CL qualification. Simply because i don’t need a bigger amount of money. Despite that, we still have 191m and the maximum wage is 1.8m/week. As you know i am proceeding with my little overhaul every season, this season is no difference. Here are the players who had left and there are some big names.

Transfer Out

The two biggest transfers are certainly Cristian Orellana and Carlos Fierro. We have enough options in the middle of the park and i will be bringing in a younger player to replace Orellana. Carlos Fierro was sold because i no longer have the confidence he is the one to lead the line for us. Sampdoria loves poaching our players and Fierro is the fourth player to join them after Lenny Nangis, Ryan SHawcross and Kyriakos Papadopoulos.

Transfer In

We spent a total of 59m on seven players this season, our record spending. Most of them are young players and only Leandro will walk straight into the first team. The rest are either backups or sent to reserve and young squad. Below are the screenshots of the players going to the first team squad.

His description fully explains what a player he is. “World Class Striker”, that’s what the media describes Leandro. I have been chasing him in pre-season and actually had a 30m bid turned down by his club Stuttgart. Their management certainly had double standard as they accepted a bid of 16.25m from Barcelona later on. I joined in the bid and was delighted when Leandro decided to sign for us. He is an awesome addition and will definitely make us stronger.

Wonderkid Julio Cesar Ibarra is already a full Mexican international and has 24 caps now. The fact that he is only 19 tells how highly regarded he is in the national team. He joined us for 16.5m from Mexican club Chivas and will replace the hole left by Cristian Orellana. Has an eye for passing and great technique in striking a ball, he and young Guy Fofana will be the future of our midfield.

Jordan Pereira is a explosive full back who was signed from Stade Rennais for 14.25m. He will be the understudy for Rolando Noguera whom i am thinking of selling next season. His only weakness is he can be fairly selfish sometimes. As long as he improve that, he will go on and be the club icon.

We really don’t need another center back. I couldn’t resist in putting a 3m bid for Rui as i believe he is a quality player. He is young at 21 and seem to possess the attributes to be a world class defender. I guess we will make a great profit if we decide to sell.

The other three are young players Mariano Martinez, Neil Field and Luis Taylor who will train under my assistant in the reserves and U18s.

Friendly Games

Friendly games is always a good way to see how the team is doing before the new season as well as blending the new signings. The team has not seen too many changes except the inclusion of Leandro. We did well in winning all the games especially having a good workout against opposition from other leagues. Alex Diallo, Emilio Pisculichi and Leandro will be the trio and key players who spearhead our attack for the upcoming games.

Premiership Odds

Winning the last four season’s title does not strengthen the believe of the media we are the ultimate favorites. It will be another season to let the bookies eat their words.

Community Shield

It was us against Man City again in the community shield this season. We didn’t seem to carry our pre-season form over to this game and never really get going in the game. We were beaten 1-2 and lost the community shield. Not too worry about this result as i believe we will show the championship form once the season gets started.

We retain the majority of the players and the addition of Leandro makes us stronger. I have the belief we are still the team to beat this season. What do you think? I guess that’s pretty all from me for this pre-season report. Thanks for reading and i will be looking forward to your comments.

    • Thanks Darren, keeping the club in good financial condition is my main priority. I agree Leandro is a beast and he should guarantee us 20 league goals every season, well hopefully.

  1. Hello Lye
Leandro looks awesome – lots of green numbers on his profile!
The ins and outs saw you make a nice liitle profit so well done on that score. Too bad about the City result but I’m sure you will bounce back from that and take charge of the season ahead. Good luck!

    • Thanks Johnny, hate losing to Man City and they are surely our biggest challenger this season. We will gain revenge on them in the league.

  2. Leandro looks to be absolutely amazing. Some of those attributes are completely insane, and he ought to be banging goals in for fun, from just about anywhere.

Shame about the loss to Man City, but if you’re going to lose one, it’s better being the Community Shield, as it doesn’t really matter that much.

    • Thanks Ziggy, i will be very disappointed if Leandro doesn’t score more than 25 goals. I don’t judge the performance of the players based on Community Shield. As long as we won at the expense of Man City when the season ends, i will be very happy.
