West Ham August – December 2022 Results – Stunning Run of Form

Hello friends, welcome to the latest update on West Ham. A solid win over Man City in the community shield sent us underway for the new season as coincidently our first opponent in August is Man City. I am sure they will be looking for some revenge there. Before we get our hands on the Premiership results, lets first turn our attention to other competitions with a European Super Cup meeting against Dortmund.

European Super Cup

I like the way we approached this game, playing a fast and attacking game. We fully dominated the game created a lot of chances. The first two goals didn’t come from open play though as Dortmund had a hard time containing the two center-backs, Crosso and Gimenez. Our first two goals arrived via corners. Leading the game by 3-0, the team clearly demonstrated some complacency late in the game as they conceded two Dortmund goals but we did well to scored two further goals to finish the game 5-2 in our favor.

League Cup

We had two difficult draws in the initial stage of the League Cup. However, the progress of the team was huge this season as they went riot in the competition. A 6-0 demolition of Liverpool and 4-1 win against Man City were no joke. The fact that they put in their strongest side indicated that we are the favorites to win the competition once again. Peterborough, our opponent in the semi-final should prove easy for us as we look again to feature in the League Cup final in Wembley.

Club World Championship

A sure-win competition for us as long as we win the Champions League. The teams in the rest of continent are simply no match for our world class players.

Champions League

I couldn’t remember how many time we were drawn together with AC Milan but surely they won’t like to face us as they have yet to beat us so far. The other two teams are AZ and Sparta Prague. i thought we had a very good draw there.

We were joint favorites with AC Milan and Barcelona for the European title. I am hopeful we can make it three titles in a row .

Another perfect record in the qualifying stage. It was especially satisfying to beat AC Milan in their home turf. First goal was scored by them but we equalized in the first half and an awesome second half performance saw us hit three goals past them. Our strong form saw us winning the rest of the games with just two goals conceded.

Not surprising, AC Milan finished six points behind us and qualify in 2nd position. The other two teams were just there for participation. We are drawn against SLB whom i am confident of beating.

Premiership

Our performance in the Premiership was stunning, that was the only word i could think of. 17 wins and only Arsenal managed to snatch a point from us. The defensive work was great and not many teams capable to score against us. With wins tracing back to last season, we had broke our own record on most consecutive number of wins. Last season we managed 18. We made it 21 this season.

We were the forerunners for the title with 52 points, 10 ahead of 2nd place Arsenal and have one game in hand. Man City and Man Utd were having a poor season by their standards and their chances of winning the Premiership looks slim unless our performance takes a drastic downturn.

Players Rating

I couldn’t complain much about the team. They are a magnificent bunch of players. Most of them were signed from young and had slowly evolved to become mature players who put out consistent performance on a weekly basis. Leandro continued his excellent record last season and had hit 38 goals so far. The 18.5 million paid to sign Anthony Crosso seemed like a bargain now as he becomes more and more influential for us.

I guess there will be few more trophies added to the trophy cabinet this season. We are just too good for the rest of the teams. There are six months left before i bid goodbye. Stay tune for my last post. Thanks a lot for reading and i am looking forward to your comments.

  1. Wow what a run, just one draw, the rest all wins and some outstanding scorelines too boot…Leandro has been immense for you, he must be the best striker in the world now, what a record he’s notched up all ready.

    • Thanks Darren. In my opinion, he is surely the best right now. A key man for club and country. We’ll see whether he can surpassed what he achieved last season.

    • Thanks Ziggy, it seems we are a class above the rest of the team. What a difference after one more season! I am definitely looking for a clean sweep this season to sign off with a bang.
