4-4-2 attacking

Hello friends, this is the current tactic used in my Thurrock game at the moment. It will be a standard 4-4-2 formation based on balancing the defence and attack.

Players instructions/Duty

Goalkeeper – Goalkeeper/Defend

Defender Right/Left – Full Back/Automatic

Defender Centre – Central Defender/Defend

Defender Centre – Central Defender/Cover

Attacking Midfielder Left – Winger/Support

Attacking Midfielder Right – Winger/Support

Midfielder Centre – Advance playmaker/Attack

Midfielder Centre – Ball Winning Midfielder/Defend

Striker – Poacher/Attack

Striker – Complete Forward/Support

I am used to employ a ball winning midfielder to win the ball back from the opposition and the other central midfielder is one who has more creativity and employed as the playmaker role. One of the strikers is used as the link between midfield and attack and the other will be the one who we rely on to provide us with most of the goals. The full backs will act on depending on what strategy we used.

As my team kept climbing up the league, i tend to have the mentality of more attacking. Thus i change my tactics from a flat 4-4-2 to 4-4-2 attacking with the wingers pushing up to be more dangerous. Sometimes i will change back to flat 4-4-2 if the opposition has fast wingers in order for the wide man to track back to help on some of the defending. It has served me pretty well but we need to have more quality defenders as we tends to leak some goals though we score a lot too.

So far it has been working pretty well and i am quite satisfied. But there is definitely room for improvement and i will fine tune to work at its best.
