Hello friends, welcome to the last post of my Thurrock 2013/14 season. This will an extremely long post as i will give you the details of our remaining seven games as well as the play-off if we can make it. We had reached the final stage of the season, within minutes we will know whether we will achieve a play-off spot or miraculously gaining a direct promotion spot to league 1. Just 4 wins out of 10 games in the last 2 months had definitely affect our chances of taking the last automatic promotion spot which is 3rd place. Nevertheless we still need to push hard and aim as high as we can. Are we able to reach the play-off or one step further gaining direct promotion to league 1? Lets find out.

First game of the month was against 17th place Accrington with us no victory upon them in the last five meetings. They like to play possession football and were controlling the game in the first half but without much clear cut chances. We continued our poor form in the first half and both teams went into the break with the score 0-0. I gave my players [...]Read More

Hello friends, we suffered a number of injuries last month which had saw us dropped to 6th place. There are a lot to play for in the next few months as the table at the top is extremely tight with 5-6 teams claiming on the play-off place. Luton and Rochdale most likely will claim the top two position unless they go terribly out of form. Its up to the rest of the teams to grab the last automatic promotion spot and four play-off places. From now onwards, there is no room for any mistakes and our players need to show the form in the early stages to climb up the table. Lets find out how we do in March.

We had another poor month with 2 wins and 3 draws. The players seem short of confidence and most of the players were not performing at their best which is a worrying signs to us at this final stage to the season.

First game of the month was against 18th place Tranmere, it was a chance for us to get back to winning ways. Seems like our bad luck on injuries [...]Read More

Hello friends, here is another month of updates for my Thurrock team. We are well on course challenging for the automatic promotion spot as we are currently lying in 4th place. Our first season in league 2 has been a highlight so far with relegation worries vanished to the air and our debts had been cleared after the meeting with Aston Villa in the FA cup 3rd round. We had a few injuries in the squad with Izale McLeod, our top scorer out for 3-4 weeks. I can’t see him feature in the games play in February. Lets hope the rest of the striker can take up the responsibility and drive the club forward. There will be 5 games waiting for us and here is the results.

A big contrast to the previous month, we had a poor month with 2 wins and 3 losses. We had a few number of injuries suffered to the key players and that probably resulted in the poor form. I believe we got our share of bad luck this month. One by one the players were picking up injuries that ruled them out in minimum of 3-4 weeks. Thus we [...]Read More

Hello friends, it is a brand new year and the challenge of bringing my Thurrock team to the Premier League is still underway. We ended 2013 on a high and was unbeaten for 15 games in all competition. The transfer window will be opening soon and i need to look for players to secure some loans until the end of the season as all my loan signings will be returning back to their clubs soon. They have been performing well in my team and i wonder whether the loan can be extended since the transfer window is opened. I am glad that the loan can be extended and i managed to extend the loan of Moreno Marra, Brett Slade, Mitchell McPike and Roel Smit.  Aaron wildig doesn’t want to extend the loan with us and will return to cardiff when his loan is up. I secured another 3 loan players in this month and they were Ernesto(Right-Back from Chelsea), Adam Miller(Defensive Midfielder from Man Utd) and Nathan Lloyd(Left Winger from Cardiff).

Biggest game of the month without doubt will be the FA cup 3rd round match against Aston Villa. We had an injury news [...]Read More

Hello friends, we are reaching half way to the 2013/14 season and we are currently lying in 7th place, the last play-off spot. We reached the peak last month going through an unbeaten run and chalking up good results. The defence seems to be playing better after i switch the philosophy back to rigid. For the first 2 weeks of the month, we will be without our top scorer Izale Mcleod, loan striker Roel Smit will replace him and i hope he can shoulder most of the goals at this time. We had some difficult games coming especially first game of the month, we are meeting Rochdale, leaders of league 2. Lets take a look how we fare against them and the rest of the teams.

Another month of great results as we started the month with a victory over the leaders Rochdale and progressed  to 3rd round of the FA cup. We have been unbeaten for fifthteen matches in all competition ever since the loss to Burton in October. Seems like the players are enjoying their football and lets hope they can continue producing the goods for the coming new year.

Hello friends, i had just finished playing the fixtures so its another month of Thurrock results coming your way. We are still trying to find some consistency for our matches, the defence had not been playing very well conceding a number of goals during the last few months. Izale Mcleod was also out of form for the last few games. I am thinking of dropping him and pair Gary Alexander and Thomas Hitchcock for the upcoming games. I hope to achieve some good results this month as we are facing the last 2 bottom teams.

As Gonzalo Vicente, Brian Smith, Williams Yakubu and Rhys Williams had gone back to their own clubs respectively in this month, i had brought in another 3 loan players whom i think will give us good quality in depth. There were Moreno Marra(a left winger from Man Utd), Roel Smit(a striker from Aston Villa) and Aaron Wildig(a midfielder from Cardiff). Check out their screenshot here.

We had a great month, i think its the best that we had so far this season. Unbeaten for the whole month and we progressed to the 2nd round of the FA cup. I was [...]Read More

Hello friends, another month of results update coming your way. We were lying in 14th place with a few points off the play-off spot. The season is still early as there is no team that seems to be leading comfortably at the moment. I am sure that there will be drastic changes to the standings after the results in October.  There will be 6 games to be played for this month and here is the results.

We did not have a wonderful start, began with 2 draws initially and 2 defeats in the middle of the month. Luckily we returned back to winning ways for the last 2 games. Overall i am still quite pleased with the results considering the strong opposition we were facing.

First game of the month was against the team few places above us 8th place Morecambe. We conceded a early in the 5th minute when their striker shake off my defender and place a shot into the net. I was unhappy with how easily he was able to dribble past my player and have a shot at goal. We tried to control the game after the [...]Read More

Hello friends, after an encouraging start to the new season. Everyone associated with the club is being lifted by the players performances. We need to continue the good form in September and it certainly won’t be easy. But at least i am more confident that we can avoid the relegation. Lets take a look at the results of the games coming up.

Though we progressed to the 2nd round of JPT, but it was quite an even results for us in the league. We had 1 win, 2 draws and 1 loss. Overall i am satisfied with  the performance of the players but i felt that we could do better.

First game of the month was a Johnstone’ Paint Trophy match against league 1 side Gillingham. I actually rested few players and handed my loan signing Rhys Williams a debut in the middle of the park. Also getting rare starts were Joe Woolley, Matt Paine, Josh Falkingham and Gary Alexander. We were playing under raining conditions and the game started by Gillingham testing our goalkeepers with a few shots and freekicks, luckily the shots lack of accuracy. We created our first [...]Read More

Hello friends, it was a nice workout on the friendly games last month and now we are ready to begin our life in league 2 which is certainly not easy. Troy Archibad-Henville was out injured again before the start of the game. He is quite injury prone, i hope he don’t become Ledley King of Thurrock. First month of the new season will see us played 6 games in total including a league cup match against Southend Utd. I had brought in another three players for short term loans to give us some backup on various position. Please find their screenshot here. Before i go to the match detail, lets take a look on how we fare in our first month.

A decent start for us with only 1 league defeat and also the defeat to Southend Utd meant that we went out the first round of the league cup. I thought that we adapt quite well to the challenge of league 2 so far, this definitely will raise the morale and encourage the players that they have the quality to play in this level.

We began the month with [...]Read More
